How about giving players the choice between a few animation sets? It's something i've always wanted in games. Nothing two crazy, two, maybe three sets. Tacticool bourne, Die hard, John Woo.

Obviously. I'd say start off by the obvious animations such as weapon position and afterwards, if the animators are up to the task, add some spices.

while I love the idea of having a variety of animation sets... its a LOT of work to be asking for in a free product. I nice alternative to this is to have a variety of "idle" poses that the player can choose between. Maybe you like holding your pistol James Bond style, or Solid Snake style... this much would be much more manageable (but still more work). also, many upper-body idle poses could be blended with running animations easily enough. May not always look right, but hey it's custom.

we should introduce Dancing with Guns. some crazy Vamp type movements with pistols and shit.
