i was under the impression that FAG was just for the lulz, and Free Action Game (or maybe Fast Action Game) would be the official title that would get marketed. I rather like it even without the acronym... but it would be a nice community joke among those who are initiated enough to care.

as a title, Free Action Game serves a great purpose in that it doesn't suggest overblown AAA production values, nor story, or anything over-committal except that it will be accessible. Not to mention it's a fitting name for a game that is produced via crowd-sourcing which is the current plan.

Joke or no joke, it works.

Yeah, FAG was a funny idea but I wouldn't really want to call it that. And I do agree that it's reminiscent of lame banner ads for shitty games.

Just gave me an idea for a name and theme.

"Aces(or maybe deuces) Wild"
(Ace is kinda a title for the best [like Air Forces call pilots Aces after a number of kills] which is what all our killers are)

Leading from that we give the game a card game/poker theme, using cards to make the menu system, maybe show some of our characters sitting around a card game, etc. Lots of potential for naming maps/moves/abilities, etc. Lots of potential to build the entire theme of the game from, kinda like Smokin' Aces (which should absolutely be among our key influence list).

My thoughts exactly. Any of the FAG variations just sound kinda dumb tbh. I'm a big fan of The Last Action Game and Double Action.

Last Action Game just doesn't sit right with me, it seems a bit pretentious.

But I do like Double Action.

Or another suggestion could be "Double Tap".

Last Action Game doesn't work for me the same way Last Action Shooter does, though LAG is a good acronym. Of course I still like Double Action.

Double Tap is the name of a movie that I recommend people see, but for a game title I don't feel like it fits.

I think what's most important is that the name mustn't take itself too seriously, or drift into the juvenile Paul W.S. Anderson notion of trying too hard to be hip/edgy/cool.

So I like cheesy but not too cheesy, and homages that aren't too direct. Last Action Shooter is pretty direct, but it totally works for me anyway.

We could get super sad face sentimental and call it A Better Yesterday, obvious Woo reference with underlying respect for the proper action movies and games of old - but that might be a little too smug/hipster.

I'm still supporting Double Action and Last Action Shooter.

I still like Trigger Happy. It says action, it says cheesy but not too much, it says guns and shit.

I'm still likign Last Action Shooter a lot, but here are some more randoms:

Frag (sounds close to fag though)

1989 (or some other particular year)

Shoot 2 Kill (lol)

WAR

Reloaded (unless that's too Matrixy)

I really like this one. We could constantly make allusions to the first game, Shoot 1 Kill, and insist that it was a real game with an active playerbase back in the day (a thinly veiled reference to TS' memory.)
