This morning I got the Linux build working and I've spent most of the day waiting for that to upload to Steam.

Once that's done the only thing remaining will be testing and tweaks. It's taking a while because school started up again but really we're a stone's throw from release.

Just finished off fiddling with maps. Barring an inevitable unforseen bug I am washing my hands of DA until the steam release.

Yeah okay looks like the Linux build is up on Steam now too. So now we're in get-out-the-quirks-slash-testing mode. I'll try to get some beta keys so that anyone here who wants to can test.

New build has gone live on Steam with the grenade fixes and the 2x style weapons turned down to 1.5x style weapons and a few map updates. Stormy should be sending out the first batch of beta keys. Report any problems in the bug report thread.

After some false starts, a new version is now live on Steam with map updates and the following code changes:

* Removed grenade damage through walls
* If a player gets stuck and stays stuck for three seconds, respawn them. Now I don't have to desperately track down stuck bugs!
* Fix vote kick crash
* Updates to the voting system as described in the voting thread to try to make it more clear why people should be kicked. We'll see how these go before I do more voting stuffs.

Alright I'm about to push some updates to Steam that are a candidate for the final Steam release. Updated Linux binaries, updated maps with fixes for the white textures, and a few more bug fixes.

Sadly, I've been struggling for a while with a client crash that involves the muzzle flare, but the actual stack trace is inside Source engine which I don't have access to, so I can't see specifically why this crash is occurring. Not wanting to subject a new horde of players to this crash I've disabled muzzle flares for now. I don't think I'll be able to fix this crash unless we get our hands on engine sources, so muzzle flashes will remain off for now.

We'll have a playtest some time this week and if everything is good then I'll press the go live button on Friday. I don't want to do it during the week because weekdays are busy for me and I want to be able to devote my full attention to it.

We've overcome the last technical hurdles for the Steam release. It will be out on Thursday morning PDT.
