Assets anyone?

I've asked Napkin for permission to 'donate' this to the mod. If it's okay with him, and if you're interested.

They come with baked normals, diff, spec, gloss maps and all that jazz.
Mappers should be aware that 'current-gen' stuff only looks as good as they light up the maps.

We would be more than happy to take them off your hands. The flashbang I'm not sure we need right now but the frag we certainly do. Corporal Dogmeat was working on a frag but the file was corrupted, then he started working on an M3, but I haven't heard from him. If he comes around again then we may end up using his, but until then this will do.

I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but have a few questions:

  • Do you have the sources? We can't really use them without the sources... we need to be able to change stuff around or add animations. Not necessarily change your work, but recompile it to work with the shit we've got going on.
  • Do you have any other models, weapons in particular?
  • Do they already have animations? It's okay if they don't we have our own team animator.
  • Is there a hands model that goes along with it? Doesn't look like it.
  • It was just you and Napkin right? I just want to make sure we're not using anyone's work without permission.

First off, sorry for the late reply.

There's a compile for it on gamebanana with some awesome anims, but I've edited the model to rebake the normals, so this would require a recompile with the updated model. Vagrant is working on a compile, but I don't know which arms he'll use or whether it'll be a csgo or css compile.
There's only Napkin and me in the credits, as far as the model and textures are concerned.
I would put placeholder css arms on this until you can have some nice ones made up.

You can use any textures of mine that you find attractive, and I can help tracking down some people for permission, but I don't have many weapons that you haven't seen yet. Look around my Gamebanana profile and see if you find something you like. I wouldn't call many of them anything better than placeholder-worthy, though. I've been out of the game too long I guess :P

For animations, any grenade anims should fit my nades well, with small adjustments to the model (like rotating the pin)

I always include credits when I hand finished stuff over to a compiler, so don't fret :)
The shotgun is just napkin and me, and the nades are just me :)

That P226 looks like it would work well where the P99 is, and you have a MAC11, we were talking about replacing the Vector with a MAC10.

Sources though, the max/maya/blender/etc files. Those are important. How do we go about transferring those?

The Mac I made is horribly outdated, but you're welcome to it. Enin is unreachable, tough, as he hasn't been online in 5 years.

I'll upload the source files for you when I consider them done, and give you a direct link in this here thread :)

Compiles can be found at gamebanana, along with their authors if you wanted to use existing compiles. The model has been modified though, so do recompile with the model included here.
