some weapons

Postby racer445 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 4:31 pm

this is a thread for some weapon models i am making

i already have a 1911 high poly from another client so i'm just gonna modify that and bake it to a low because it's easy. when textured it will be silver and have ivory grips.

There's something about the whole thing that doesn't look quite accurate, but that's not a big deal. Great looking model, regardless.

Out of curiosity, how many tris is it? Looks like a metric assload.

What if you textured it this way?:

Although it is a slight variant of the 1911 I think.

Pretty nice model, though by silver do you mean gunmetal silver or chrome silver? I always thought the latter was a bit tacky to be honest; like a drug dealer's gun. Also, I've always thought that gunmental black had a nice contrast with ivory grips e.g.

Pretty sure that that is a FN browning if that's what you meant, brew. Also, I have to agree with grunty that that scheme is pretty hideous.

I like silver and I like wood grips. Just throwing that out there. Very actionmovieish, although I suppose it depends on which movie.

yeah, personally i'd like to avoid yet another black/dark gray gun, even though i like black with ivory grips

i might do silver with black grips? idk still like silver with ivory because it looks ridiculous

Silver with black grips looks pretty nice, I think.

agree, silver with black grips. and whatever model we get for the other pistol should be black, so that you can identify them at a distance.
Fuck this shit, I'm going to bed.

quickly made a couple edits. about 90% of this model was recycled from a client i did some work for last year so it needed a few changes to look more like a 1911. i will bake and texture this over the weekend.
