*Limited ammo for weapons
*Grenade as a special item rather than free-for-all
*SWORDS

It's so not cool to be out of ammo.

Has anyone here even watched an action movie? There's few things cooler than running out of ammo, throwing empty guns away, and picking up new ones.

The unlimited ammo thing is massively casual and it needs to go, but it won't because managing ammo counts is hard :(

Infinite ammo is boring. No need to think about whether you should shoot or not, and bam all of a sudden you are just running around holding left mouse button.
Way cooler to be running out of ammo, throw the weapons and pick up someone elses gun.
Shouldn't adding ammo counts to weapons just be a matter of tinkering with the weapon code?

The game used to have limited ammo. Vino thought it would be a good idea to remove them to pander to the casual console audience, or something.

I don't know, infinite ammo plays well with the "no text" HUD style.

We had non-infinite ammo, and then people were running out of weapons all the time, and then we put in ammo drops so people wouldn't run out of ammo so much, and then it was basically the same thing as infinite ammo since people were constantly running over ammo drops, and that's basically the same thing as infinite ammo, so I just made it infinite ammo and got rid of the ammo drops.

The only functional difference between unlimited ammo and limited ammo was unused ammo boxes peppering every square centimeter of a map; it definitely wasn't more hardcore or whatever. I'm not sure why this would even a 'thing' to be honest, other than perhaps that contributors have cycled through enough that the majority haven't played a version where ammo pickups were still in the game.
Also, I would rather see character models that are more closely themed around action movie archetypes than see the current random guy squad get put into trenchcoats.

I still remember those ammo pickups and honestly, they SUCKED. Every time i killed someone, I felt the need to take the small little box, not because I was out of ammo, but because it was there. I like the infinite ammo, you still have to watch your reloads, cant even count how many times I got killed cause I got shot diving at someone with no bullets in my gun.

I guess I am just too used to the specialists. Where you start out with like 200 rounds or something. I suppose that gamestyle is more feasible when there is a larger selection of weapons?

This. I'm pretty sure DA just uses a generic ammo pickup, so if your victim has a shotgun, his ammo drop will still refill your 9mm, but in TS the ammo drops only had certain ammo types in it.

And also if you ran out of ammo you could just disarm someone, pick up their gun and kill them with their own weapon ;P That was fun.
