As we all know this game highly reflects upon The Specialists Modification for Half Life. Please let's bring in role play aspects. I have a high performance serverbox, and am familiar with coding for the previous TSRP community. I think this is the breakthrough we needed. I think we can create an amazing community. I am so hyped for this game, and please any and all admins contact me, I would like to get involved as much as possible.

What kind of stuff would benefit RP? We haven't made any effort on the RP front to date, as I understand it most of the stuff can be added via sourcemod. What kind of stuff do you have in mind?

All KINDS of things will benefit. The Specialists 3.0 was a half life mod that resembled this game greatly. WITHIN that game, a community was formed, for the sole purpose of RP. Coding was done on maps so you could purchase properties, data was saved via mysql databases, players had jobs from law enforcement to gangs, to even running a local bar. The jobs had a set rate of hourly pay. Players could form Organizations at the approval of the server master, and then work their way up from the food chain.

Plugins that were used:

ARP
TSRP
AmX Mod
Meta Mod
Harbu

Any games now a days either use cloudservers to store player data, mysql databases, or HIVE servers. MYSQL databases were used mostly in TSRP, and BENEFITED server owners, with the simplicity of editing job roles, building entities, etc, etc,etc.

The Specialists mod was supposed to be remade for half life 2, and never was. YET. I know, people that will still go back to the mod to look for a TSRP server. Please get in touch.

Hm, not sure if those plugins are compatible with source, but there is likely other ones that have been released since then that fill the same niche. We're flat out focusing on the core game for now - there's a lot to be done before it's all schmicko - so I can't see us going the full nine yards with regards to creating an RP game mode.

That being said, all of the source code for DA is available on github and all the other files are available through our web sync, including bat files and such for building the solution and all that jazz.

I would love to see a community around RP, it would be great to see someone with a bit of coding knowledge put in a few weekends and get a game mode or plugin going. Do you know anyone who would be willing to help?

I know a few, however, as far as coding it myself, I truly wish I knew my stuff :( I know how to edit it, etc, so I would have to maybe ask a few people that i know of. Thank you so much for the fast reply! I appreciate all of the information you shared! I will check out and see if people are interested in trying to recode harbu =].
