Is this game influenced from/ based off another?

For years I played a little Half Life 1 mod called The Specialists, which is completely dead at this point but was one of the most fun mods ever. While I sit here downloading your game, DA, I can only feel as if I am downloading the second coming of this game. Can anyone here confirm or deny that it was an influence? Possibly some of the same devs?

Yeah this mod was started by some people from the TS community, and Vino used to code on TS for a while. Since then it's kinda evolved into its own beast.
